Rise Up Project wants to take time to say thank you to our panelists for our first ever event, Rise Up in Your Career! PARTICIPANT UPDATES

Tia Tan, RUP Alumni February 2021
“Before I started the Rise Up Project, I thought that I knew everything about the interview process including using tools such as Microsoft Office and LinkedIn. It was a great experience getting to know people in different positions than mine. I looked forward to showing my progress throughout each week by practicing my elevator pitch to my peers. I thoroughly enjoyed all the positive feedback that was given to me by my coaches which made me more confident in getting back into job searching.”

Stephanie Evans, RUP Alumni February 2021
“With the assistance of the Rise Up Job Essentials Boot Camp, I was able to refresh my skills in preparation for a career change due to my current position being transitioned offshore to a new group of employees. I learned to believe in myself and put myself out there to expand my network. I am looking for a position in finance with an emphasis in accounting within the next two to three months and am confident that will happen after this experience.”

VOLUNTEER HIGHLIGHT
Meet Ali Torabi, CoachIn my professional life, I work as a strategy consulting principal. At night, I am one of the coaches for our April bootcamp! I’ve also worked on curriculum development for some of our course materials. I chose to volunteer with Rise Up Project because I have always enjoyed hearing about people’s stories and aspirations. This was an opportunity to give back to those that might not have access in their communities to the resources to support their career goals. In my spare time, I love to read and travel.
